I'm basically done with classes for the week, minus the going to them part. No more essential work this week for me. I'm mentally checking out for the next two days. I get home Friday night, then off again Saturday evening. RENT is going to be awesome, as is DC. It's been a long time since I was in DC, should be interesting.
Disco was awesome! That was easily the best Harris party thus far. And the light up dance floor made my night (along with a lot of other things). And replicant1186 was wearing purple pleather pants. hehe, they were hilarious. I was Goodwilling it up Saturday afternoon in town, and found a shirt and chain that worked perfectly. I think I should avoid looking that sketch in the future. |

| | RENT soundtrack | ] | Midwest Conference Swimming and Diving Championship meet this weekend. Hell yes. I am so ready for this meet. And starting today, I have at last felt good in the water during taper. I am destroying the breaststrokes. I <3 my new Fastskin suits. I enjoy getting suits for less than half of retail price.
hoyland54, I got it today. It's awesome, thank you so much!! *hugs*
More to come, I guess.
Maybe I should think about catching up on Russian homework, and trying to get ahead in other classes. Next week is not going to be productive for getting things done. |

| | The Tossers - Everything's Bad | ] | Wow, it's been a while since I updated. The Florida swim training trip was awesome. All two weeks of it. Even the 25 hour bus ride home was bearable, and in a crazy way, enjoyable. The Invite last weekend went really well for the entire team. I was very happy with my swims, PR in the 200 Br, 400 IM, and season bests in the 50 Fr, 200 IM, and 200 MR. I was .01 off my season best for the 100 Br. The meet against Coe Friday saw me swimming the 200 Fr and 500 Fr. Ugh. Oh well, PRs in both of those. 1:57 and 5:21. I have reclaimed these events from my brother at last. hehe. About time too.
School has started again, and classes aren't too bad. This semester should be interesting at the very least.
well, it's off to practice with me now. Later y'all. |

There, maybe I've gotten into a meme before most of the people here. As far as I know, this one didn't get started here, so I may be ahead of the curve for once, instead of behind it.
I should have been studying linear algebra for the past hour or two. But no. Instead, I'm doing things like this and also having much fun with duct tape. Ah duct tape, what would I do without you? The pictures are awesome. It was definitely worth it. Now to hope that our SA doesn't kill us.
momoduck, good luck with the papers. Hope you get them done before crashing tomorrow. *hugs* And I can't believe that about your bike.
Home on Saturday. So close, and yet so far. #$%&ing finals! |

What Kind of Drunk Are You? Brought to you by Rum and Monkey
So I had my Russian final this morning. Thank goodness I set both alarm clocks last night, it appears that my main clock may have ceased working as an alarm. It's three times now that it has failed to go off and wake me up. Hmmm.....odd. I need to figure out what is going on with that thing. Only one final left, Linear Algebra, Friday morning. Then I'm officially done with the semester. And will be 24 hours away from being home. Oh home, where swim practice is going to kill me for a solid week before I go train myself for a week then go to Florida for two weeks of training. Winter break is going to involve too much swimming. And prolly end up feeling like a really, really long time. It'll be weird to be away for that long, and I'm coming back to Grinnell early because of swimming. Very disturbing.
Scarface is showing at Harris tonight. I'm there, I need to see that movie badly. "Say hello to my leetle freen!" |

| | Incubus - Mexico | ] | So we've got the Mutual of Omaha Invite at University of Nebraska, Omaha, this weekend. And by weekend, I mean Friday and Saturday. So we're leaving tomorrow afternoon and getting back like 9 or 10 Saturday night. Too many hours on buses!!!! Oh well, hopefully I'll have good swims in the 400MR, 200 MR, 200 IM, 100 Breast, 200 Breast, and 50 Free. It's been an easy week of practice, so I think I should be able to hit some good times. I want 'em bad.
In other news: thanks hazelbunny for the icon. It's just so true about college. Albeit I haven't fallen asleep in class yet. I think it only ever happened twice in high school (once each sophomore and senior years). Now sleeping through class, that has happened here.
Waltz is this Saturday. Of course the Harris event of the semester occurs when we're at a travel meet. Hopefully we'll make it back in time for a decent bit of waltz. We'll see what ends up happening with that. Ugh.
It was good to be home for Thanksgiving, and see hoyland54. Unfortunately break wasn't long enough to really visit with other people, although I did spend a good bit of time with the LFHS swimmers Thursday and Friday mornings. It was good to see Steve, Matt, and Jake back from college. They're all loving it up at their respective colleges too. Which is awesome.
I guess that's about all I've got to say right now.
Later ya'll. |

Okay, so I have almost officially moved over to Plans. Good for Grinnell people, bad for the rest of the world. I don't think I'm blowing this off entirely (since I know of at least two people who read this to check up on me), but I also know I put a lot more stuff on Plans. Crazyness.
So Tuesday was depressing, I guess largely because it showed that more than half the country truly believes Bush is the right choice for this country. Man I wish I really lived a democracy of, by, and for the people. That would be awesome. Right, so Tuesday night, rather than sitting glued to my computer watching the results pour in to the BBC, I did five hours of Linear Algebra HW. Yes, 5 straight hours. It sucked majorly. But it was good studying for the test yesterday. Then I went to sleep. I didn't need to stress over something I couldn't change in the slightest. And Iowa went to Bush anyways. If Iowa had been closer, maybe I would have felt bad about voting at home, but Home Rule needed to be shot down.
( Other News )
I need food, so I'm going to lunch in a bit. The world needs to stop being so crazy and start making a lot more sense, or I'll be headed abroad, permanently. America Junior keeps sounding better and better. |
